Maranhão

In Balsas, in the state of Maranhão in northern Brazil, there is a Christian community working in collaboration with the Combonians and Apostolinas. It's a mission present in the region since decades. The town of Balsas is the center of many activities where volunteers from different countries gather to support the community with recreational activities for vulnerable children. The sense of community is extremely rooted in this part of the country and the cooperation between the inhabitants of the various villages is very strong.
